The big brother of Spiritual Weapon is the ninth-level Dungeons & Dragons 5e spell Blade of Disaster, available for Sorcerers, Wizards, and Warlocks. What makes Spiritual Weapon a brilliant bonus action spell is that it lasts for one minute but isn’t concentration it just stays there, waiting to be used every bonus action. So when cast at third level, it will do an additional 1d8, and at level five, 2d8. The damage of the weapon increases for every two spell slots higher it is cast at. On each turn, after it has been summoned, the weapon can be moved up to 20 feet and used to attack as a bonus action. When summoned, the weapon can be used to attack immediately and deals 1d8 of force damage plus the player's spellcasting modifier. The player can summon a floating weapon anywhere within 60 feet, which will last for one minute. As with Healing Word, Mass Healing Word has a reach of 60 feet which is what makes it so useful.Īvailable for Dungeons & Dragons Clerics and Oath of Conquest Paladins, the second-level spell Spiritual Weapon is amazing for a bonus action. This third-level spell is one of the best Dungeons & Dragons spells for low-level Clerics and Alchemists but can heal up to six targets for 1d4 + the player's spellcasting ability modifier. The other version of Healing Word is Mass Healing Word which, as the name suggests, heals more than one target. Healing Word doesn’t heal massive amounts of damage but is not to be sniffed at when a healer can’t get over to a party member to cast a more powerful healing spell. At level one Healing Word heals the target for only 1d4 + the player's spellcasting ability modifier however, the healing goes up by a d4 for each spell slot above level one. Healing Word is perhaps the best known of these and is available to Bards, Clerics, Druids, and Alchemist Artificers. There are three healing spells in Dungeons & Dragons that characters can cast as a bonus action which are available to a decent number of spellcasters.
